Adventure? In the Back Yard?

The Adventurers Club Challenge for June is Your Own Backyard. Since the local Adventures Club often goes exploring in the wild lands of Backyardia, you would think finding adventure in the back yard would be no problem.

Well, then again....

Mio: "So, find adventure in the back yard, huh?"

"How about finding my way out of these weeds? Is that adventurous enough?"

Poor girl... with blazing heat, daily rain storms and little time for yard maintenance (not to mention anything fun), the yard is starting to look really flipping awful uh, a little over-grown. Maybe you'll have better luck on your next adventure, Mio!

Lagniappe (or omake, if you prefer). This shows how humid is was outside. Every time I got my camera too close to the ground, the lens would steam up.

Where things stand here at RoG

As I recently mentioned, things have been difficult for me on the dreaded "IRL" front. My kids and wife are fine at the moment but several other family members aren't. As you can imagine, these crises will call for a refocus of my priorities. I hope to not beat my readers over the head with a lot of "woe is me" pity party stuff but you will probably see some changes around here. It may take a bit longer for me to approve reader comments and to reply to them. As I mentioned before, I may be posting here and/or commenting less often at other blogs. Please don't think I'm ignoring you or have otherwise "dropped out" when this happens.

You may notice less of a focus on new and upcoming stuff, since I'm probably going to cut way back on purchases for now. I still have a backlog of subjects to post and discuss anyway, so that's not a big deal. I imagine you'll see a some more "think piece" opinion-editorial items as it relates to our various hobbies and leisure activities. Some of that writing could be blunt but keep in mind that I'm shinning a harsh light on myself and my perceptions first and foremost. If I think a post might be too troublesome, I'll post a "delicate souls" warning and maybe put the content behind a break.

Meanwhile, I do have some (probably quick) photo reviews I need to get posted, just so the whole blog doesn't become a dull rumination on life. I hope all my readers will continue to check in here and I'll try to keep things up to date as much as possible.
